Brad "I'd Fuck it up, all on purpose. To prove a point. It's not worthless. Find a girl, that seems normal. Commit yourself, find out." - Fred Gavin. The riffage and honesty in this song is immense. Word tail wails prevail...This record captures your attention from the get go as your brains synapses fire that dopamine straight out of your eye sockets and back into your middle ear. Catchy and melodic phrases beautify the experiences the singer is sharing through the free verses we have come to love from T54. A most intriguing part of T54's sound that has always never strayed, is, how the blending of guitars meld. No. Almost melt, into lead singer, Joe Sampson's vocal chords, like ice cream. Keeping that raw Southern New Zealand sound, which hovers just shy around perfection, alive. Black on Black sweeps your heart strings around like the deep southern breeze, as those other strings spin thereafter like your grandfathers record player. Never getting old. From here, tracks tend to alternate between stand outs (there are not many that are not) and instrumental chaotic beauts. Fred Gavin, Fred Sandwiches and HKTG Rules respectively do bang quite hard (on your middle ear bones). Further vibrant tracks pick up the pace towards the tail end concluding in an upbeat "through the wall" vocally raucous synth riff "rock stock" for the catalogue.
